Carrington Business Park are now the proud owners of two Automated External Defibrillators (AED’s) on site, one located in the Bureau Offices of the Centre Buildings adjacent to the Main Reception, and the other in the Security Lodge.
An AED is an electronic device designed to deliver an electric shock to a victim of sudden cardiac arrest.
Approximately 890 deaths from coronary heart disease occur outside of the hospital every day. Most of these deaths are due to the sudden loss of heart beat.
A large number of these victims, up to 60 percent in fact , might have been saved if Automated External Defibrillators were immediately available.
Carrington Business Park already has two members of staff trained as First Aiders, and on 18th July, all staff members received training on the use of these vital pieces of equipment. These units could one day help save somebody’s life.
